Franz Wright has selected The Bees Are Waiting as winner of the 2011 Marick Press Poetry Prize. The collection will be published in 2012.

The Bees are Waiting has been named a finalist for the 2011 T.S. Eliot Prize, the 2011 May Swenson Poetry Award, and for Del Sol Press’s 2010 Poetry Prize, as well as a semi-finalist for Black Lawrence Press’s 2010 Hudson Prize and the 2011 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry.

The poem “Bone Flute” has received the 2010 Barbara Bradley Award, sponsored by New England Poetry Club.

Sprawling Conglomerates,” an exhibition of recent works by John Borowicz (brother of the poet) will be on display at Adam Baumgold Gallery in New York through August 4, 2010.

Biography

Karina Borowicz’s first book, The Bees Are Waiting, has been selected by Franz Wright as winner of the 2011 Marick Press Poetry Prize.  Her work has also appeared on Verse Daily, and her translations have been featured on Poetry Daily.  She is a former intern poetry editor at The Paris Review.
